Combining Hamburgers and Health in Fast Food
Burger Planet Brings in Fitness Guru as Spokesperson
GARY, Indiana – Burger Planet, the world’s largest fast-food restaurant chain, is hiring fitness guru Jayne Peterson in order to promote new healthy items on the menu and compete with the ever-growing health trend started by fast food restaurants around the world.
"Burger Planet has been a leader in the Quick Service Restaurant Industry and is offering healthy menu choices. The company believes in encouraging customers to live healthier and have active lifestyles and I have spent my life trying to teach women that lesson," Jayne Peterson said.
Consumers can now purchase packets of five different types of fruit: apples, grapes, peaches, pineapple, or bananas. And, they have added a new line of gourmet salads and lettuce wrapped chicken breasts. These items give Burger Planet a competitive advantage because other fast food restaurants simple don’t offer them.
“Burger Planet became famous because of burgers, fries, and soda. Quite frankly, I am worried this new focus on health will turn off our long-time customers who come here for the staples. But, hey, that's our job to walk the tightrope between modernity and tradition," said Gerard DuBois, Burger Planet’s top chef.
Burger Planet is becoming more health-conscious to fit the needs of those customers who desire more healthy choices in their diet.
“Well, Burger Planet cares about its customers. For more than seven decades, the company has succeeded because it put customers first and now our customers desire healthy choices, of which we offer many,” James Muellenbach III said.
Burger Planet was founded in Indianapolis, Indiana in1934 by James E. Muellenbach I, leader of the Quick Service Restaurant Industry. Burger Planet has served 52 billion customers and employs 48,272 people. It has 8,921 franchises in every state and 17 countries. Burger Planet’s goal is to provide a variety of different foods to its customers in order to satisfy their tastes and lifestyles.

I think you did a great job on this press release! Everything flowed well and you fit in a lot of information without being too lengthy or wordy. The only thing I can maybe see is that since you are the public relations rep for Burger Planet, you should put your information for contact! Overall you did an excellent job, it was fun to read.
Monica,
You did a great job. I thought it was very direct and to the point. The only suggestion I would maybe have is that the sentence in the lead about joining the trend makes it sound like a band wagon that everyone is doing it and Burger Planet is just like them. Other than that though I thought it was great.
Nice headline and sub-headline.
Make city, state and date in dateline AP style.
I would avoid sounding like Burger Planet is following other restaurants...better to appear as if they are the leader.
Good contact info..using Hans Ketchup as the media contact works.
I would avoid the negative quote by the chef....the words "worry" and "turn-off" might make Burger Planet and its new direction look bad.
Good boilerplate.
Great job. I would only suggest watching your wording to avoid making it sound like they were not a healthy establishment before. Other than that, great job.
Monica,
I liked your press release, it covered about everything the reader needed to know and had great word usage (is usage a word?) haha. Good work and well done.
