Combining Hamburgers and Health in Fast Food
Burger Planet Brings in Fitness Guru as Spokesperson
GARY, Ind. – Burger Planet, the world’s largest fast-food restaurant chain, is hiring Jayne Peterson, Opal Whitcomb’s personal trainer, in order to promote original items on the menu that are healthier. This move was made in order to give Burger Planet a competitive edge in the ever-growing health trend started by fast food restaurants around the world.
Jayne Peterson said Burger Planet has been a leader in the Quick Service Restaurant Industry and is now offering healthy menu choices. “The company believes in encouraging customers to live healthier and have active lifestyles and I have spent my life trying to teach women that lesson,” Peterson said.
Consumers can now purchase packets of five different types of fruit: apples, grapes, peaches, pineapple, or bananas. And, they have added a new line of gourmet salads and lettuce wrapped chicken breasts. These items give Burger Planet an advantage over their competitors in the new health-wise direction.
Burger Planet became famous because of burgers, fries, and soda said Gerard DuBois, Burger Planet’s top chef. Now healthy food is what the customers want “But, hey, that's our job to walk the tightrope between modernity and tradition,” DuBois said.
Burger Planet is becoming more health-conscious to fit the needs of those customers who desire more healthy choices in their diet.
Well, Burger Planet cares about its customers James Muellenbach III said. “For more than seven decades, the company has succeeded because it put customers first and now our customers desire healthy choices, of which we offer many,” Muellenbach said.
Burger Planet was founded in Indianapolis, Indiana in1934 by James E. Muellenbach I, leader of the Quick Service Restaurant Industry. Burger Planet has served 52 billion customers and employs 48,272 people. It has 8,921 franchises in every state and 17 countries.
