Promoting Awareness, Changing Attitudes
CMP Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee Making a Difference

LOGAN, Utah – Cache Metropolitan Planning Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (CMP BPAC), is a new organization dedicated to promoting safety awareness and developing guidelines to help create a more bicycle and pedestrian friendly Cache Valley community.
The committee is establishing their foundation currently and their goal is to work with local governing bodies to develop policies that will create a friendlier environment for all modes of transportation.
“Think big, start small, go slow,” Chancellor said. “It takes a lot of time to process and digest ideas.”
The committee agrees on proposed bike routes and recommendations regarding route continuity, as well as the need for street sweeping for cyclists and snow removal to facilitate travel for citizens with limited abilities. The ultimate goal is to help new bicyclists and pedestrians feel confident through education – education for drivers of motor vehicles as well as for pedestrians and cyclists. The organization intends on advocating for a more respectful, cleaner and less congested Cache Valley community.
“Attitude is everything,” Chancellor said. “We want all users of the roadway to have respectful attitudes toward each other.”
The committee is comprised of a diverse group of citizens including professors, a police chief, a forest ranger, a UDOT engineer and students. Each of their skills and expertise are needed and their input benefits the organization.
The CMP Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee is a break-off committee from the Cache Metropolitan Planning Organization. It was founded in 2006 in Logan, Utah by president Jaynan Chancellor. Anyone who has the enthusiasm and motivation about the cause can join the committee. Meetings are held the first Thursday of every month on the third floor of the Cache County building at 5:30 p.m.

Monica, I think you did a great job! I really have nothing to say other than it is awesome! Good work!

Very well done. at the end, put a call to action melded into the date and time you already have. That may help strengthen the ending. Great job.

What do you want the person to do who receives this release? Put a call-to-action portion at the end to make this clear.

I had trouble picking out your boilerplate. it could be more put together into one paragraph.
